I have decided to write a novel in a month!
I’m doing NaNoWriMo or the National Novel Writing Month. The rules are that I have to produce 50k words over the month of November… To date my word count high has been 16k over 3 months so I think this might be a stretch. But I have an outline and notes, and I am ready!
My main problem now is that I want to start… NOW!
But I have to wait. Maybe I’ll plan more. I think it is because the deadline has been set that I’m raring to go. I’m also trying to clear the writing decks for that month. By the end of October I’ll be able to knuckle down and create my book.
It’s for young adults and should be about 60k – 70k words when complete.
Wish me luck – I have a feeling I will need it.
I can do it – after all It’s only 1700 words a day… Easy… *cough*

hehe. It’s the same for me. I’d love to start just right away but I’ll also be a bit more patient … November will be there soon. But what’s really amazing, is that new ideas for the story pop up every now and then, and I find it useful like hell since I’m still not done planning. So I hope to maybe end up with a whole outline by 1st November 😉
Good luck for you – fingers crossed
Good luck to you as well. My handle on the forums is Kate Murray if you want to be writing buddies. I am in the mystery, suspense, thriller thread. 🙂
Sure, I just added you. My handle is Druffin 😉
And good luck to the both of you! I too am joining the madness once more (a veteran of, oh, exactly two others now) and already all the creative thoughts I have had about this year’s attempt have fallen from my brain. But, NaNoWriMo is brilliant – I published my 2011 attempt last year!
Excellent and good luck for this year! 🙂
