So, the build has been progressing, but an awful lot has looked the same except for a bit of piping. But the real infrastructure has been going in. Now we have our floor level and all the drainage in. It is all pretty amazing. Next week the walls start to go in. I can't wait!… Continue reading Mud is gone, hello concrete

Optical illusions and designing
Well - we have the block foundations in and the insulation has just arrived. Things are moving as fast as ever and we are realising how big the extension is. It is a strange thing, to go from a plan to a physical thing. We are a mess but the foundations are going in. So,… Continue reading Optical illusions and designing
Blocks
Not mental blocks or writing blocks but real blocks. They have arrived so the foundations are going in... So exciting! Can't believe that the pile of blocks will become our extension...
Autism – who has to change?
So, I have just read an article by Stephen Fontenot in UTD Today discussing whether you can reduce biases by educating people about autism. Three groups of people were used. One group was shown a video about autism and how to socially interact with them. Another group had training about mental disability but autism wasn't… Continue reading Autism – who has to change?
Concrete and mud
Well, I am managing better. We have the first pour of the foundations and everything is moving a might quicker than expected... They are thinking at the moment of finishing one or two weeks early. There we are then... That is the first week of the build done. We have gone from having a conservatory, to not having one, and the conversion on the garage has started. Getting ready to brick up them holes And it begins... All done then... There we are then. New door in place. Now it… Continue reading Week one completed
That’s a new start then…?
Did the new year start? Honestly, last year was strange and it looks like this year is going to be even stranger. As the new year came into being we toasted 2021 and went to bed. No parties and no guests. Just me, mister and 2 kids. A new year. A continuation of lockdown. Exercise… Continue reading That’s a new start then…?
Hugh the intrepid explorer
UPDATE Hugh the cat has had the audacity to go into Mrs Scribbles garden and place his paws on the window sill and scent mark! (I wasn't staring outside for long but only glanced out and noticed this). Mrs Scribbles has spent the last half out walking back and forth along her territory line trying… Continue reading Hugh the intrepid explorer
