The Window – a short story

September 12, 2018September 12, 2018 Kate2 Comments

There is a window opposite my bed, a big one. It's curved and gives m a little more space, although it is already a big room. I can sit and watch the tree, the leaves that fall and change. At the moment it is Autumn and every thing is turning orange and brown. I know… Continue reading The Window – a short story

Practice makes perfect… Right?

September 10, 2018 Kate5 Comments

So, I'm looking at starting on the PhD in only a few weeks. But I am worried about my writing of short stories being a little lax... I thought about it... and then decided that there was one thing I could do. Practice! All writers do it, and I actually love writing short stories, so… Continue reading Practice makes perfect… Right?

There are prints on Etsy

August 28, 2018 Kate2 Comments

Once I was going to keep the books and the art separate. The two would never meet, but lately I have seen more people using Etsy than any other platform... So I have popped the two latest artworks onto Etsy. Watchful Islands and The Swan have both landed... ETSY ...has it all handled so if… Continue reading There are prints on Etsy

What’s been happening?

August 22, 2018 Kate8 Comments

Well, of late, a lot. Which means of course, that I haven't been blogging. But then life can get in the way. The good news is that the colouring book for kids is almost ready... Just need a few more proof reads and then it will be hitting a shelf near you. Then there is… Continue reading What’s been happening?

PT Barnum and the Greatest Showman

May 11, 2018 Kate3 Comments

I don't normally write reviews, but this is something to do with my Ph.D. I want to show that environment has more to do with writing tales than people realise. There are spoilers in here so only read on if you have seen it. How does this equate to The Greatest Showman? Well, the cast that is… Continue reading PT Barnum and the Greatest Showman

I am actually going to study for a Ph.D.! But this means a certain amount of writing that is taken up with research. I want to keep you all abreast of it but do I just create another button, or do I open a new blog...? Is anyone interested in 19th-century asylums?

Update

April 10, 2018 Kate2 Comments

I have been missing and for that I apologise. Sorry... It was Easter and we went away for a while. Loved that. It was so nice... It was a great few days with us going from Weston Super Mare to Bath. We both needed a recharge and we did that. But before the trip I'd… Continue reading Update

Drawing

March 13, 2018 Kate4 Comments

Which is better? Digital or traditional? I do both. In fact, they both take the same amount of time. But which is the better medium? I can't decide... Which is the better for resale? Do people even buy digital drawings? I'm planning a drawing but I can't decide whether to make it digital or traditional...… Continue reading Drawing

PhD’s

February 17, 2018 Kate6 Comments

Have I mentioned that I'm thinking about going for one? I have a masters in creative writing and I have found a project that I really want to study. Nineteenth Century industrialisation and disability... Sounds boring? It isn't. Imagine being about to interview the disabled from two centuries ago. There would be some that couldn't… Continue reading PhD’s
