What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?
Challenges make life interesting. Honestly they do.
At least that is what I tell myself.
In the next six months we need to:
Finish the house
Get the veg patch up and running
Get the back garden designed and completed
Get the front garden designed and completed
Decorate the upstairs
Decorate the downstairs
Finish my PhD
Finish R’s PhD
Set up the hot tub
Finish the kitchen
Get the Camper on the road and go on holiday
That’s a lot.
There are priorities in there. We GOT to stop the roof leaking and we have GOT to sort the bedrooms as there happens to be a massive hole in the ceiling of the main bedroom that leaks heat all the time.
Will we do it all?
I’m not sure but a lot of the jobs to finish the house are small and fiddly and basically an afternoon of work. In truth, if the weather were warmer we would have finished the roof already, but with the temperature so low, the sealant won’t work properly and set so we have to wait a little for the sun to heat everything up.
So in the meantime we are moving onto the veg patch. That should be well underway as you read this. If it goes to plan then we should have the potential to be almost self sufficient in six months. I mean, due to pests, bugs and crop failures I am sure we won’t be… but the potential is there.
The camper needs to go in the garage to get it’s clutch fixed and the gardens are going to slowly evolve as we start in the veg patch and move through to the front of the house.
The PhD’s are both on track for the moment but there is a fair leeway with them, meaning we have more time if needed.
The decorating I am hoping will be complete by the time we hit the winter. It will get done, but in small bites.
Basically as long as we don’t get overwhelmed or sick, everything should move forward slowly.
Just wish us luck.
